"The Talk": How & When to talk with your kids about sex & body safety

Episode 27

Society has painted this picture of parents having just one ‘sit down talk’ about the birds and the bees when their kids hit puberty. But is that all there is to it? Is one awkward conversation over the kitchen counter really going to empower our kids with the tools and resources they need to make proper choices?

While the internet acts as an enormous wealth of knowledge for our tech-savvy children, it can also be a vast assortment of misinformation. This makes it even more important to educate parents about how to navigate these conversations in the most positive way for their kids.

The topic of when and how to have ‘the talk’ is a very present issue for hosts Brianna and Mark, which is why they want to create safety for children through educating parents around this topic. They want to reduce the stigma of talking about sex and encourage parents to feel comfortable talking to their kids about it.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The link between using proper terminology and sexual abuse
  • When to approach boundaries and body safety with your kids
  • Age appropriate ways to answer common questions
  • When and how to do the ‘sex talk’
  • How to conduct conversations around self-pleasure with teens

If you’ve avoided these conversations until now or want to feel more prepared about how to tackle them, don’t miss this episode!
